Learning Support Assistant – Secondary School
Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to work across our partner secondary schools in Hull and the surrounding areas. Full-time and part-time applicants are encouraged to apply, term time only. Daily rates are competitive and dependent on experience.
We are seeking enthusiastic, reliable and resilient candidates who feel confident supporting students aged 11–16. This role requires a passion for education, inclusion and helping young people overcome barriers to learning. Applicants with relevant experience such as Teaching Assistant, SEN Support Assistant, Behaviour Support Worker, Youth Worker or Healthcare Assistant are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Previous experience working with young people in an educational or support setting
• Experience supporting students with SEN, SEMH or additional learning needs is desirable
• A Level 2 or above qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or similar) is an advantage, but not mandatory
• Strong behaviour management skills and confidence working in a secondary environment
Responsibilities within this role include:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students across KS3 and KS4
• Support students with additional learning needs to access the curriculum
• Work closely with subject teachers to adapt resources and learning materials
• Promote positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
• Support students during break and lunch times where required
• Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, students and parents/carers to ensure effective communication

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
