Learning Support Assistant

 

Teaching Personnel are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work with students with additional needs in a mainstream school in Formby. The role would be working in the schools Complex Needs Unit with a wide rang of ages from 5yrs - 11yrs. The pupils have needs such as autism, ADHD, Global Development Delay, Behavioural and speech and communication needs.

The ideal person will have experience working with children with similar needs and be confident with their ability to manage challenging behaviour. 

The school has been graded 'Good' by Ofsted 

  • Rate of Pay: GBP10 to GBP11
  • Full time, Monday - Friday

Requirements

  • Have relevant, recent experience within the primary age range
  • Experience working with a pupils with SEN needs is essential
  • Engage and support children in their learning through a variety of strategies, adjusting activities for the pupil they are working with to support learning styles and individual needs
  • Feedback to teaching staff regarding progress and outcomes
  • Have the ability to work constructively as part of a team
  • Have a positive approach to managing behaviour
  • Develop positive relationships with children, staff and parents to promote the progress and attainment of children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
