Learning Support Assistant

The Role
As a Learning Support Worker, you will primarily be supporting students within the classroom, helping them access learning and develop essential life skills. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing 1:1 or small-group support
- Assisting pupils with communication, sensory regulation and emotional wellbeing
- Delivering activities set by the class teacher and SENCO
- Supporting pupils with complex needs to engage positively in learning
- Promoting independence, confidence and resilience
- Helping maintain a calm, structured and nurturing environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience in a care or education setting
- Experience working with young people
- Understanding of – or willingness to learn about – complex needs, learning disabilities, Autism and sensory impairments
- Empathy, resilience and excellent communication skills
- Enthusiasm and a commitment to supporting positive outcomes
- An Enhanced Child & Adult DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Teaching Personnel

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
