Sen Teaching Assistant

re you passionate about supporting children with additional needs? Do you want a rewarding role where you can make a real impact every day? Teaching Personnel are seeking SEN Teaching Assistants to work within a range of primary, secondary and specialist SEN schools across the Salford area.
We are looking for individuals who are committed, caring and ready to support pupils with a variety of Special Educational Needs, including ASC, ADHD, communication needs, sensory needs, physical disabilities and learning difficulties.
What the role involves
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping students access education in a safe, supportive environment. Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing classroom support alongside the class teacher
- Offering 1:1 or small‑group support for pupils with diverse SEN needs
- Supporting communication, emotional regulation and sensory needs
- Helping to manage routines, transitions and behaviour where required
- Using creative strategies to help make learning accessible and engaging
- Working collaboratively with school staff, SENCOs and external professionals

Who we are looking for
We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds, including education, care, support work, youth work and psychology/education graduates. Ideal candidates will have:
- Experience working with children or young people, particularly with SEN
- A positive, patient and nurturing approach to supporting additional needs
- Willingness to support behaviour, communication and sensory needs
- Reliability, resilience and a proactive attitude
- Availability Monday–Friday, 8:30–15:30
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply through us

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
