Job description

Learning Support Assistant 

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a supportive Special Educational Needs (SEN) school on an agency basis, with the potential to move into a permanent role.

The Role:

  • Supporting children and young people with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH), and complex learning needs.

  • Assisting with learning activities under the direction of teachers and SEN specialists.

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to help pupils engage, progress, and achieve their goals.

  • Supporting with personal care and behaviour management where required.

  • Creating a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally in an SEN or educational setting.

  • A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
