Learning Support Assistant

A vibrant mainstream secondary school in Bournemouth is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their friendly and supportive team. The Role:
The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to provide targeted support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will assist in both classroom and small group settings, adapting resources and strategies to meet individual needs, and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional learning needs.

• Assist in the delivery of tailored learning activities and interventions.

• Encourage and promote student independence, confidence, and resilience.

• Work collaboratively with teachers and the SENCO to implement individual support plans.

• Monitor and record student progress, feeding back to relevant staff as required.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have experience working with young people, ideally within an educational setting.

• Demonstrate patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.

• Be proactive, flexible, and committed to supporting students’ academic and personal development.

• Have a positive, can-do attitude and the ability to inspire confidence in others.
