Learning Support Assistant
Job description
A vibrant mainstream secondary school in Bournemouth is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their friendly and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people by helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
The Role:
The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to provide targeted support to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will assist in both classroom and small group settings, adapting resources and strategies to meet individual needs, and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional learning needs.

Assist in the delivery of tailored learning activities and interventions.
-
Encourage and promote student independence, confidence, and resilience.
-
Work collaboratively with teachers and the SENCO to implement individual support plans.

Monitor and record student progress, feeding back to relevant staff as required.
The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have experience working with young people, ideally within an educational setting.

Demonstrate patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.

Be proactive, flexible, and committed to supporting students’ academic and personal development.

Have a positive, can-do attitude and the ability to inspire confidence in others.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
