 Learning Support Assistant – SEN Schools (Ad Hoc) | Portsmouth
£13.75 per hour | Supply / Flexible Work | Teaching Personnel

Teaching Personnel is seeking caring, committed and flexible Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to support a variety of SEN schools across Portsmouth on an ad hoc, flexible basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of children with special educational needs while maintaining control over your schedule.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with a range of additional needs.

  • Help create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment.

  • Work closely with teachers and support teams to promote positive learning outcomes.

  • Assist with behaviour support, communication and personalised interventions.

  • Adapt to different school environments, age groups and needs depending on daily assignments.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people (school experience is beneficial but not essential).

  • A patient, calm and resilient approach.

  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEND.

  • Flexibility and reliability for ad hoc bookings.

  • A DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one through Teaching Personnel).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
