Learning Mentor

Job description

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit Learning Mentors to support children in primary schools with their learning and emotional well being. Due to the pandemic, many children have faced struggles both with their learning and in their home lives- therefore additional support is needed in order to help them settle back into the classroom environment and reach their learning goals.

Successful candidates will have:

  • Experience working 1:1 with children with SEMH (social, emotional and mental health difficulties)
  • Confidence in working with children who display challenging behaviour
  • Experience supporting children academically in a classroom or similar environment
  • A positive attitude with a strong work ethic
  • A calm and patient manner with the ability to de-escalate difficult situations and understand a child's needs and struggles

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
