Learning Disability Teaching Assistant (SEN Teaching Assistant)
Location: Pembroke - SA71
Contract: Fulltime & Part-time
Salary:£89.39 Per Day
About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Disability Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive educational team. This rewarding role involves supporting students with diverse learning needs by adapting lessons, fostering confidence, and promoting independence. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to create a safe, stimulating, and supportive environment tailored to each pupil’s individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Adapt teaching approaches and create accessible learning materials for students with learning difficulties

Provide one-on-one support to help pupils understand schoolwork and build self-confidence

Maintain a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment

Support the physical, social, and emotional development of pupils

Collaborate with teachers, teaching assistants, and external professionals such as speech therapists
-
Keep accurate student records and contribute to review meetings
Person Specification:

Patience and empathy to understand and support diverse needs

Creativity and flexibility in adapting teaching methods

Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and external professionals

Strong observation skills to monitor progress and adapt support accordingly

A genuine passion for making a positive difference in students’ lives
Work Environment:
You will be working in either mainstream schools & SEN-specific settingsproviding vital support to help students thrive.
Career Development:
Opportunities to progress to Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or to pursue further qualifications to become a fully qualified SEN teacher.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
