We are currently recruiting for a KS2 Teacher to work in a school in Penzance. The hours will be 8.30am – 3.30pm, Monday – Friday during term time. The ideal candidate will have at least three years teaching experience.
We are looking for a dedicated teacher who aims to inspire students to achieve to their highest possible standard. You will be responsible for planning, marking, and monitoring students’ progress. You will need good communication skills as you will be required to liaise with other staff members, parents, and the SENCO regarding the students’ progress. The ability to work well in a team is very important as you will need to work alongside your teaching assistants to help to ensure the students are receiving the best support possible and that all of the staff in your classroom have a clear plan for the day. Good organisational skills are highly desired as you will need to have learning activities planned for the class as well as having individual activities planned for students who may be struggling with a particular topic, this will allow the teaching assistants to work in small groups or 1:1 with students effectively and to fill any learning gaps.
You will have the opportunity within the school to teach both inside and outside of the classroom. The school is looking for somebody who is enthusiastic and wants to get involved in the planning of school trips, assemblies, and sports days. You will need to demonstrate excellent classroom practice with time management and behaviour management skills.
Candidates will need to be aware of Child Protection, Health and Safety, Behaviour, Teaching and Learning and Equal Opportunities policies. You will also need a Child Workforce DBS.
