Job Title: KS2 Teaching Assistant
Location: County Durham
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time (depending on availability)
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in County Durham. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support pupils’ learning, development, and wellbeing, ensuring every child can achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons across the KS2 curriculum.

  • Work with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning and promote progress.

  • Assist with classroom management, preparation of resources, and maintaining a positive learning environment.

  • Support children with additional needs, adapting learning where necessary.

  • Encourage positive behaviour and contribute to the social and emotional development of pupils.

Requirements:

  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within KS2.

  • Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

  • A proactive, flexible, and nurturing approach to supporting children.

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA qualification or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
