KS1 Teaching Assistant opportunity in Blackburn school from September
- Level 2 qualified Teaching Assistant or higher
- General classroom assistance, including supporting children with lower level learning
- 'Good' Ofsted rated primary school
- Experience working alongside children in EYFS or KS1
- Long-term temporary position
A school at the heart of Blackburn are in search of a passionate teaching assistant to work alongside an experienced classroom teacher in KS1. The role will be to provide general assistance within the classroom, specifically supporting children with lower levels of learning. The dedicated staff at the school all share the same value that is to support each and every child in becoming confident, caring individuals, and to encourage them to fulfil their potential.
Accordingly, successful candidates will:
- Level 2 qualified Teaching Assistant or higher
- Recent experience of supporting children with lower level learning in KS1
- Hard working, hands-on and willing to get stuck in to the position of general teaching assistant
- Friendly and will fit in well with the team of staff at the school
- Available full-time (8:30 - 15:30) from September 2019
The children of this smaller than average school are well-behaved and are eager to learn; although there are some individuals who present challenging behaviours. Accordingly, a positive outlook towards managing behaviour and an ability to develop good relationships with the children is important. Since the school first began recruiting temporary staff through Teaching Personnel, they have employed many teaching assistants through the agency. The team of staff are extremely welcoming and cannot do enough to make new members feel at home and supported.
