Job Title: Key Stage 1 (KS1) Teacher

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent (or Fixed-Term if applicable)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, Term Time Only
Start Date: 1st September
Salary: MPS/UPS (depending on experience)

About the Role:

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Key Stage 1 Teacher to join our welcoming and inclusive primary school in Slough. This is an exciting opportunity to join a committed and supportive team, where every child is valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum

• Create a positive, safe and stimulating learning environment for all pupils

• Assess, monitor and report on pupils’ progress, identifying and addressing individual learning needs

• Work closely with colleagues, support staff and parents/carers to promote the academic and personal development of children

• Implement effective classroom and behaviour management strategies

• Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extra-curricular activities and events

• Follow the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures

Person Specification:

Essential:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Experience teaching in Key Stage 1 (including teaching placements if ECT)

• Good knowledge of the KS1 National Curriculum and assessment procedures

• Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills

• A positive, reflective and flexible approach to teaching and learning

• A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Desirable:

• Experience supporting children with SEND and EAL

• Understanding of phonics teaching (e.g. Little Wandle, Read Write Inc.)

• Willingness to contribute to school development and enrichment activities

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
