Job description

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated KS1 Teacher to join our friendly and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate practitioner who is committed to delivering high-quality teaching and learning and ensuring every child reaches their full potential.

The successful candidate will have high expectations of pupils, a strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum, and a nurturing approach that supports both academic progress and personal development.

Location: Barnoldswick
Contract: Temporary

Start Date: 1st September 2026
Salary: £120 - £150 per day until AWR is addressed

The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative and inclusive lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum
  • Create a positive, stimulating and safe classroom environment
  • Assess, monitor and track pupils’ progress effectively
  • Provide appropriate support and challenge for all learners, including SEND and EAL pupils
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants and parents
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour in line with the school’s policies
  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the school

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • A sound knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and early childhood development
  • High expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A reflective approach and commitment to professional development
  • Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
