KS4 SEMH Teacher – Maths (GCSE & Functional Skills)
Temporary to Permanent | Full-Time | Start ASAP
We are seeking a committed and resilient KS4 SEMH Teacher with a primary specialism in Mathematics to join a specialist provision supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This role involves delivering GCSE and Functional Skills Maths to very small class groups of no more than five pupils, enabling highly personalised teaching and meaningful relationship-building.
The Role:

Plan, deliver, and assess Maths lessons at KS4 level (GCSE & Functional Skills).

Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual SEMH needs.

Complete planning, marking, and assessment in line with curriculum expectations.

Provide consistent, nurturing, and structured support to pupils.
-
Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation.

Work collaboratively with support staff and the wider pastoral team.
The Ideal Candidate:
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent.
-
Strong subject knowledge in Maths at KS4 level.
-
Experience working with SEMH pupils or within alternative/SEN provision (essential).

Calm, patient, and emotionally intelligent approach.
-
Confident in managing behaviour through consistency and relationships.

Passionate about supporting pupils who require additional nurture and stability.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
