Key Stage 4 Teacher – Chorley
Salary: £31,650 – £43,606 (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Temp to Perm

We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Key Stage 4 Teacher to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in the Chorley area. This is a full-time role offered on a temp to perm basis, providing a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with additional needs.

This school provides a nurturing, supportive environment for students aged 7–16 who have struggled in mainstream education settings. Pupils often present with complex social, emotional, and mental health needs, and the successful candidate will play a vital role in helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve both academically and personally.

About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to KS4 pupils across a range of subjects.
  • Support students with a wide range of behavioural and emotional needs.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including pastoral and therapeutic staff.
  • Maintain high expectations for student behaviour, progress, and personal development.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture.

Requirements:

  • PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching in a specialist or mainstream setting with SEMH pupils is desirable.
  • Ability to build strong, consistent relationships with young people.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for working with vulnerable learners.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
