We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Key Stage 2 1:1 Primary Support Assistant to work within a welcoming primary school in Carmarthen, supporting a pupil on a one-to-one basis. The child you will be supporting has additional learning and emotional needs and requires consistent, patient, and nurturing support throughout the school day.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a real difference in a child’s educational journey. You will play a vital role in supporting the pupil’s academic development, emotional regulation, social skills, and confidence, helping them to access the curriculum in a positive and meaningful way.

Building trust and forming a strong, supportive relationship will be at the heart of this role. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to implement individual support strategies and ensure the child feels safe, understood, and supported within the school environment.

Key Stage 2 – 1:1 Primary Support Assistant
Location: Carmarthen
Hours: 8:30 – 3:30 (Monday to Friday, no weekends!)
Pay: £13.75 p/h OR £89.38 p/d
Contract: Temporary
Start Date: ASAP / Flexible start dates available

Requirements

We are looking for candidates who have experience working with children or vulnerable individuals in any capacity, including (but not limited to):

  • Education
  • Care
  • Youth work
  • Sports coaching
  • Childcare
  • Support work

The ideal candidate will also require the following (we can support you in obtaining these as part of the registration process):

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
  • Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration
  • Level 2 Safeguarding for Children and Vulnerable People (minimum)
  • Two professional references covering a 24-month period (or equivalent)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
