Start Date: September 2025
Pay Rate: MPS/UPS – Competitive rates depending on experience
Location: Wigan, WN4 (Ashton-in-Makerfield)
Contract: Full-time, Temporary with the potential to become permanent

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school located just off the A58 in Ashton-in-Makerfield seeking a committed and creative Key Stage 1 Teacher to join their team from September 2025.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a nurturing environment that prioritises children’s wellbeing and development. The school offers a broad and engaging curriculum, with a strong emphasis on inclusion, creativity, and early literacy and numeracy skills.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Delivering high-quality lessons to a Key Stage 1 class, ensuring all pupils are engaged and supported.
  • Planning and assessing in line with the national curriculum and school policy.
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active learning.
  • Monitoring pupil progress and adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Collaborating with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and parents to support children’s development.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Recent experience teaching in a Key Stage 1 setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum, phonics, and assessment practices.
  • A Child Workforce Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Desirable but not essential:

  • Experience working with children with SEND.
