Interventions Teaching Assistant – Morecambe (LA4)

Full-time | Start Date: April 17th | Competitive Pay

A welcoming and diverse primary school in the Morecambe (LA4) area is seeking a patient, confident, and experienced Interventions Teaching Assistant to join their team from April 17th, continuing until the end of the academic year.

This role focuses on delivering targeted small-group and 1:1 interventions, with a particular emphasis on phonics support across EYFS and KS1. You will help pupils close attainment gaps, build confidence, and make meaningful progress in an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.


The Role

As an Interventions Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Deliver structured phonics interventions to small groups and individual pupils.
  • Adapt learning materials to meet the personalised needs of each learner.
  • Support children with EAL, SEND, or other barriers to learning.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, and wider support staff to raise attainment.
  • Create a calm, encouraging, and supportive setting where all pupils can thrive.

What We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Strong phonics knowledge and experience supporting EYFS & KS1 pupils.
  • Experience delivering 1:1 or small‑group interventions.
  • A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach.
  • Experience supporting children with behavioural, SEMH, or SEND needs (beneficial but not essential).
  • Confidence working both independently and as part of a team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
