Job Title: Intervention Teaching Assistant
Location: Burnley
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Intervention Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team, a thriving primary school in Burnley. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference to children’s learning, providing targeted support to help pupils reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering small group and 1:1 intervention sessions across core subjects (literacy, numeracy, etc.).

  • Supporting pupils with a range of learning needs, helping to close attainment gaps.

  • Working closely with class teachers to plan and deliver effective intervention programmes.

  • Monitoring and recording progress, feeding back to teaching staff and parents as appropriate.

  • Promoting positive behaviour, wellbeing, and engagement in learning.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience of working with primary-aged children (school-based experience desirable).

  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.

  • An understanding of how to support pupils with additional needs.

  • Patience, resilience, and the ability to motivate and inspire children.

  • A positive team player who is flexible and committed to supporting the school’s ethos.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
