Job description

Intervention Support Teaching Assistant – Year 5 (Mornings Only)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Part-time, mornings only
Location: Poulton (FY6)

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a friendly and supportive primary school in Poulton, who are seeking an experienced Intervention Support Teaching Assistant to work in a Year 5 class. This role is mornings only and is available to start as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will work with small groups and individual pupils to deliver targeted support in English and Maths, helping to raise attainment and build confidence.

The role will involve:

  • Providing intervention support in English and Maths for Year 5 pupils.

  • Working with small groups and individuals to address gaps in learning.

  • Supporting the class teacher in raising attainment across the cohort.

  • Helping pupils to develop their confidence, resilience, and independence.

  • Monitoring and feeding back on pupil progress.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in Key Stage 2.

  • Hold strong subject knowledge in English and/or Maths.

  • Desirably hold a degree in Maths or English.

  • Be confident in delivering interventions and supporting pupil progress.

  • Be enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to making a difference.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
