Humanities Tutor

As one of the 32 nationally approved suppliers of the ‘National Tutoring Programme’ Teaching Personnel is working with its client schools to provide both small group and 1:1 tuition to pupils requiring additional support.

One of our client schools based in Tameside is seeking a Humanities Tutor to work on part time basis.

The role as a Tutor will be primarily focused on providing support to:

• Students with SEN.
• Students who are disengaged.
• Students who are below the expected progress rate within the subject.

It is essential that the required applicant will be able to not only develop academic attainment, but also develop student’s overall confidence when it comes to tackling exams.

Communicating with subject leaders, the tutor will be advised as to specific areas of improvement for individuals. It will then be expected that the tutor can run through these areas on a weekly basis with the student in question.

The Tutor is expected to have a strong subject knowledge, as well as good grounding when it comes to delivering set curriculum.

The required skills to successfully undertake this role centre around being able to be an excellent communicator, whilst being able to display the necessary patience required when working with pupils. The ability to quickly develop strong working relationships is also of huge importance.

The school is located in Tameside, meaning ease of access from Manchester city centre.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
