Job description

Humanities Teacher – Secondary School in Yeovil
Start Date: September

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Humanities Teacher to join our thriving secondary school in Yeovil from September.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an inspiring teacher to become part of a supportive and ambitious Humanities department, helping students develop a deeper understanding of the world around them through subjects such as History, Geography, and Religious Studies.

The successful candidate will:

  • Teach Humanities across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with Key Stage 5 opportunities depending on experience)

  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive, and thought-provoking lessons

  • Encourage students to question, explore, and develop their understanding of people, places, cultures, and events

  • Support students to achieve their academic goals and build confidence

  • Contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school

We are seeking someone who:

  • Has strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Humanities

  • Creates engaging learning experiences that inspire curiosity

  • Builds positive relationships with students and colleagues

  • Is committed to high expectations, inclusion, and continuous improvement

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
