Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a Secondary School based in Stoke-on-Trent (ST5) who are looking for a Humanities Teacher to start in January. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching both History and Geography at KS3 level and specialise in either subject for GCSE.

About the role:

  • Start-date: 5th January
  • Ongoing until the end of the academic year
  • Paid to scale

As a Humanities Teacher, you will plan and deliver lessons across KS3 and GCSE level. You will ensure students have a well-rounded learning experience with both History and Geography, allowing them to make the right decision when selecting their GCSE options. You will assess pupils both formally and informally, providing live and written feedback when necessary. Additionally, you will contribute to the Humanities department ensuring the curriculum remains up to date, supporting with additional revision sessions for GCSE students and extra-curricular clubs/trips.

What we’re looking for:

  • QTS with strong background in History/Geography
  • Experience teaching Humanities across KS3 and specialist subject at GCSE level
  • A passion for the subject and ability to create a positive learning environment
  • Organised and adaptable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
