Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA) to support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in our client Secondary school across York.

As an SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), your key duties will be to support SEN pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis, engaging with learning activities and carry out additional duties as requested by the class teacher. The role will also consist of supporting SEN pupils across KS3 and KS4 in all subject areas, so existing knowledge of the National Curriculum is preferred. It is also essential that you possess excellent behaviour management skills.

We are looking for committed and hardworking individuals who would be happy supporting challenging pupils in an education setting. You must have a working knowledge of meeting the emotional, social and mental health needs of young people and a desire to take a supporting role in the classroom.

It is essential that you have experience of working with pupils who have special educational needs (SEN), are flexible, proactive and professional.
