History Teacher (Maternity Cover)
Location: Hornchurch, East London
Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract Type: Maternity Cover (Full-Time)
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)

About the Role
Our client, a successful and well-regarded academy based in Hornchurch, is seeking a passionate and dedicated History Teacher to join their Humanities department on a maternity cover basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring History lessons across KS3 and KS4. You will be joining a supportive and forward-thinking team with a strong track record of academic success and a commitment to student progress and wellbeing.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher who is enthusiastic about their subject and can motivate students to develop a love of History. ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome to apply.

Role Details

  • Deliver high-quality History lessons in line with national curriculum expectations

  • Plan, prepare, and assess students’ work effectively

  • Contribute to the wider school community and enrichment opportunities

  • Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment

  • Support the department during the maternity leave of a permanent staff member

Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • A degree in History or a related field

  • Strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills

  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities

  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning
