Teaching Personnel are working on behalf of a successful secondary school in Berkshire that are looking to recruit a History Teacher. This is a full time position with the potential to extend to a permanent contract for the right candidate. The position is due to start in September 2019.

About the School:

This is a position within an secondary mainstream school, located in Slough Berkshire, in which all students are given the opportunity to flourish through a student centred culture which is dynamic, challenging and affirming.

The History Team at this school aims to fire students' curiosity and imagination, moving and inspiring them with the dilemmas, choices and beliefs of people in the past. The study of history helps students ask and answer questions of the present by engaging with the past.

The ideal candidate would:

  • Be a Fully Qualified Teacher or NQT with a qualification relating to History
  • Be creative, varied and flexible enough to promote differentiation
  • demonstrate experience of planning and teaching History to A Level
  • You will need confidence and a positive 'Can-do' attitude & philosophy

What is expected of you:

  • The ability to teach History to Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and GCSE level
  • Adaptable in your teaching skills to suit different classes and learning styles
  • Be a good team player with strong behaviour management skills

Qualifications and Skills required:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Recent experience teaching History in a mainstream UK secondary school
  • Bachelor of Education / PGCE / or equivalent teaching degree in History
