We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and high-achieving secondary school in Bedford seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic History Teacher to join their team from September 2026.

This full-time opportunity is ideal for both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers looking to join a supportive school with a strong commitment to academic excellence, staff development and student wellbeing.

The Role

As a History Teacher, you will:

• Deliver engaging and inspiring History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Plan and prepare creative lessons that challenge and motivate students of all abilities.
• Assess, monitor and support student progress to help maximise achievement.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students can thrive.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Humanities department to share ideas and best practice.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities and departmental initiatives.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be on track to achieve QTS by September 2026.
• Excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for History.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• The ability to inspire, motivate and engage secondary-aged students.
• A positive, organised and proactive approach to teaching and learning.
• A commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for every student.
