Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced High Level Teaching Assistant to support learners within a specialist educational setting in the Burrowbridge area.
This full-time position offers the chance to become an integral member of a committed team from September 2026, with flexibility for an earlier start where possible.
We require an experienced HLTA who can confidently step into the role immediately, supporting both teachers and pupils while maintaining high expectations across the learning environment.
Your Responsibilities
Working across different classes, you will provide high-quality educational support, lead learning when required and contribute towards achieving positive outcomes for pupils with additional needs.
- Delivering planned learning activities independently.
- Covering lessons during teacher absence where appropriate.
- Supporting individual pupils and small groups.
- Adapting resources to suit different learning styles.
- Encouraging confidence, independence and resilience.
- Monitoring progress and providing valuable feedback.
- Supporting behaviour positively and consistently.
- Collaborating with teaching staff and external professionals.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within SEN or specialist education.
- HLTA status or equivalent practical experience.
- Confidence working independently.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Flexibility, initiative and professionalism.
- The ability to hit the ground running with minimal supervision.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
