Role: Headteacher
Location: Bristol
Salary: Up to £90,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

About the Role
Are you an innovative Headteacher passionate about improving the lives of pupils? We are seeking a Headteacher to lead a new, specialist school opening in Bristol, as part of a leading education provider.

As Headteacher, you will be instrumental in driving a culture of high-quality, creative learning, ensuring the educational needs of our pupils are met, and fostering their personal and academic development. You will have access to a robust support network from central services, including Finance, Resourcing, HR, and IT, alongside a community of supportive Headteachers from other schools and central school improvement assistance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding outcomes for students, tailored to their individual needs, abilities, and aptitudes.

  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for both pupils and staff.

  • Meet all statutory requirements set by the DfE, Ofsted, and other external bodies, achieving the highest possible inspection ratings.

  • Lead a motivated and engaged staff team, committed to continuous professional development and achieving excellence in all areas of school life.

  • Oversee the financial success of the school, including maintaining 100% occupancy, managing costs, and implementing growth strategies as required.

  • Drive effective strategic and operational planning, including self-evaluation and school improvement initiatives.

  • Create and maintain a shared vision that aligns with the overall group strategy, inspiring and motivating students, staff, and the wider school community.

Essential Requirements:

  • At least three years' experience as a senior leader in a specialist school for pupils with complex communication needs.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • A commitment to personal and professional development.

  • The ability to provide clear and inspiring leadership and vision.

  • A thorough understanding of leadership and management processes, including pupil outcomes, staff motivation, safety, admissions, cost management, regulatory compliance, and growth strategies.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

  • Completion of NPQH.

  • Experience in performance management.

  • Experience in recruiting, managing, and inducting staff.

  • Expertise in planning curricula across various ages and abilities.
