Head of Department – English - Central Nottingham

This Nottinghamshire Secondary school are currently looking for a Teacher of English with experience in roles of responsibility either as a head of department or as second in command. Alternatively they are interested in hearing from experienced teachers who are interested in a position leading a team of English Subject Specialists to success.

This position is to start ASAP and will involve line managing a team of 6 English Teachers choosing the curriculum and building the English syllabus to ensure it complies with national guidelines. You will also need to be able to motivate and raise the attainment across the school within KS3 and 4 for English.

This is paid at the lead practitioner pay scale.

Whilst leading the faculty you will also be responsible for your own classes, for these classes you will be need to complete all the duties of a normal classroom teacher, including having a tutor group, planning and marking and setting a good example for students and staff alike.
