Head of English – Gillingham
Full-Time | Start Date: January 2026
A thriving secondary school in Gillingham is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Head of English to guide their department and champion progress for students with English as an additional language. This full-time post begins in January 2026.
Main duties include:

Leading the English team and driving engaging, high-quality teaching across all year groups.

Creating and delivering effective approaches to help EAL learners access the curriculum and succeed.

Supporting and coaching colleagues to develop inclusive and adaptable classroom practice.

Monitoring attainment and adjusting programmes to ensure every student receives the support they need.

Building strong working relationships with families, external agencies, and the wider school community.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
