Teaching Personnel are actively seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant on behalf our partner secondary school in Accrington. This is a full time position which will specifically focus on improving the behaviour of disengaged pupils:

Full time position until the end of the year initially with a view to becoming permanent

Required to start immediately Working across all year groups on a 1-to-1 basis with identified pupils and with small groups.

Previous experience of supporting pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties and special educational needs is preferred.

Due to the Inclusion Manager and SENCO identifying a small number of pupils who require additional support, they would overstaff their internal support team with a Behaviour Support Assistant. This role is to work with specific pupils to effectively engage them with their studies. You will be expected to work on a 1-to-1 basis and with small groups to act as positive influence in their lives.

The ideal candidate will be confident challenging disengaged behaviour effectively. You must be able to de-escalate apathy to learning in a calm manner. You will be responsible for reinforcing positive behaviour management strategies and recording progress for the Inclusion Manager.

It is a smaller than average behavioural unit with 40 pupils on roll. 90% of the pupils are from White British backgrounds with the number of pupils who speak English as an Additional Language being lower than the national average.

The SENCO and Inclusion Manager wish to meet interested candidates ASAP. Therefore, for immediate consideration please send your updated CV to Kirsten on 01772 842155 or email
