Graduate Teaching Assistant

Job description

Are you a graduate seeking paid experience within a school before completing your PGCE application? Or, are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to work in a welcoming and supportive school in Plymouth?

A SEN school in Plymouth requires a ‘future teacher’ or an experienced Teaching Assistant to support a student with challenging behaviour on a full time basis until the end of the academic year. This student is in Key Stage 4 and needs academic support inside and outside of the classroom. This role is temporary to start off with however there is potentially a permanent contract for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Recent experience supporting and working with children and/or young adults with special educational needs. This can be from a care or educational background. If applying as a graduate, you must be passionate about gaining experience in education.
  • A nurturing and patient approach to learning and understanding.
  • Have a strong academic background. Grades A – C in Maths and English GCSE.
  • A Child Workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to get one through Teaching Personnel – details below.

Teaching Personnel offer competitive rates, weekly pay and do not use Umbrella companies to process your payment. Earn between GBP285 - GBP325 per week.

In order to work for Teaching Personnel and clear our vetting process, you must have a Child Workforce DBS subscribed to the Update Service. Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of GBP40, plus an annual subscription fee of GBP13 for the Update Service.
