Graduate Teaching Assistants
Manchester

Teaching Personnel are seeking to recruit a number of Graduate Teaching Assistants for the upcoming academic year (2019/2020)

Successful teaching assistants will be enrolled in Teaching Personnel's Future Teacher Programme and will be given the opportunity to gain valuable paid school based experience needed to embark on a Teacher Training programme in September 2020. We welcome applications from graduates of all subject specialisms with a particular focus on Maths, English, Science, MFL and Humanities.

Through the Future Teachers Programme, Teaching Assistants will be introduced to one of Teaching Personnel's client schools and will be required as a Teaching Assistant for up to 12 months. Successful applicants will be given the opportunity to experience a variety of roles including:

  • Classroom cover in the short term absence of teachers, managing behaviour and ensuring that students stay on task
  • 1:1 tuition and interventions in your subject specialism - using your knowledge to raise student attainment
  • Special Educational Needs support where you can working alongside the schools SEN department
  • Assistance in the planning and preparation of lessons to upskill you in the area

This will provide all graduate Teaching Assistants with the necessary experience required to embark on a Teacher Training programme whilst receiving up to £295 per week. You may also be supported by the schools direct Teacher Training programme if successful.

You will be introduced to a large successful secondary school that caters for approximately 1500 pupils, including a thriving Sixth Form. The school continues to be one of the most successful, popular and over-subscribed schools in Manchester. The school has a National reputation for providing quality education and has consistent high levels of attainment across all year groups.
