Graduate Teaching Assistant

Senior Leadership at a school in Burnley is currently seeking to appoint graduates for a 12 month Teaching Assistant position for the 2019/20 academic year.

The school is an over subscribed 11-16 provision, based in a central Burnley location. Working in collaboration with a number of schools across the Lancashire and Manchester areas the school prides itself on an inclusive and supportive atmosphere. This collaborative approach gives the school access to an "Outstanding" teaching school provision, perfectly suited to guiding aspiring Teachers through their initial stages of their Initial Teacher Training journey.

This role is designed to give a range of experience throughout the school year in a variety of different positions. Responsibilities general classroom support, Cover Supervisor, 1 to 1 intervention, group intervention sessions and towards the end of the year taking the lead in a classroom as an Unqualified Teacher. Upon completing this position the successful candidate will be fully equipped to start an initial Teacher training.

To be considered for this role candidates should:

  • Hold a Bachelors degree, a wide range of subject specialisms are considered (or be graduating in summer 2019)
  • Show a desire to work in education and progress onto completing their initial teacher training
  • Be able to reach the Burnley area

The successful Graduates will benefit from:

  • 12 Months paid experience
  • Variety of school based experience with the dedicated support of a team of experienced educators
  • Guidance for making ITT applications, successful SCITT available at the school
  • Networking opportunities with schools throughout the Lancashire and Greater Manchester areas
