Graduate Teaching Assistant

The Headteacher of our client secondary school wishes to appoint Graduates with an interest in teaching, providing them with the opportunity to gain hands on secondary school experience as a permanent member of staff.

• Anyone wishing to complete a PGCE course or similar in the future.

The role;

• Graduate Teaching Assistant – Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan.
• Opportunity to earn a salary while training to be a future teacher (Roughly GBP1200 per month)
• Immediate start dates available with employment for the remainder of the academic year.
• Applications being considered for the next academic year also.

The role of a Graduate Teaching Assistant will be varied and will require you to be flexible, confident and willing to learn; throughout your placement at the school can expect to gain key experience that will contribute to you becoming an outstanding teacher in the future.

A significant proportion of your work will be based around your specialist subject with a primary focus on raising pupil attainment as well as; supporting pupils with special educational needs, covering classes, assisting with the planning and preparation of lessons and delivering small group tuition sessions.

The school recruiting for this role is located on the outskirts of Wigan town centre; the school is easily accessible from the surrounding areas; St Helens, Leigh, Warrington, Chorley and Bolton. The school is a short drive from the A580 (East Lancashire Road) and has free onsite parking for staff.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
