Graduate Teaching Assistant – SEN Provision (Secondary School, WN3)
Full-time | Mon–Fri | Term Time Only | £85–£95 per day (depending on experience)

Are you a recent graduate passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs?

We are working with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in the WN3 area of Wigan, seeking a dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their specialist SEN provision. This attached unit supports a small number of students with a range of additional needs, including ASC, SEMH, ADHD and moderate learning difficulties.

The Role:

• Work closely with the SENCO and classroom teachers to provide 1:1 and small group support

• Assist in implementing EHCP targets and personalised learning plans

• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to support their learning and emotional development

• Help to create a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment within the provision and across the main school

• Encourage pupil independence and celebrate progress, no matter how small

Ideal Candidate:

• A recent graduate in Psychology, Education, Social Sciences or a related field

• Some experience working with children or young people with SEN (in a school, youth work, care or voluntary capacity)

• A calm, compassionate, and resilient approach to behaviour

• Confident in working collaboratively as part of a team

• Eager to learn and potentially pursue a career in education, SEN teaching or educational psychology
