Graduate Teaching Assistant
Job description

Requirements for this role:
- Graduate TA.
- Available full-time.
- Experience in KS2.
- Has taken interventions/boosters.
A client of school of Teaching Personnel in Leeds are looking for a graduate TA to support learning across a few year groups, starting as soon as possible. If you are free full-time and looking for a permanent role then this could be ideal for you.
A couple of the Teaching Assistants have left this summer and the school want to recruit some high-quality support staff to replace them. Rather than 1-2-1 SEN or Behaviour Support, this is a more general class support role where you are expected to support the class teacher and ensure that all the class are making progress and staying on task. The role would begin from September and would become permanent at around Christmas time should the school be happy with the job you are doing. It is a large primary school, so you are expected to work across a number of different classes when required. The school received a GOOD in its last Ofsted and is always looking to improve progress and eventually be graded as Outstanding.
The role would most likely be concentrated in the year groups of 3-5 as this is where the school feel that they need further to support to boost attainment. In lower KS2 especially some children’s progress has slowed after KS1 SATs, so the school feel it is imperative that they have strong support in these classes to make sure that each child is learning at the rate they should be. Therefore, any experience of working with children of these age groups would be particularly useful. The school are especially interested in candidates who have experience in taking interventions, boosters or in tutoring. This is because they would like people who can take both higher and lower achieving children and do more focussed work with them at points. Therefore, any prior experience of this would be highly thought of. Likewise, graduate Teaching Assistants are preferred for this reason.
If you are interested in this role, then please apply by submitting your CV where indicated. We will then be in touch and set about organising online interviews with the school for select candidates.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
