⭐ The Role

Join Teaching Personnel as a Teaching Assistant supporting primary schools across Cwmbran. You’ll work closely with pupils who have Autism (ASD), ADHD, or Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs—helping them learn, thrive, and feel valued in school.

Key Details:

  • Job Title: Teaching Assistant

  • Location: Cwmbran

  • Start: Immediate

  • Pay: £89.38 per day (DOE)

  • Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

  • Contract: Full-time or flexible part-time


What You’ll Do

  • Support children 1:1 or in small groups

  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

  • Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs

  • Help create an inclusive, engaging classroom environment

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and support staff

  • Contribute to EHCPs (Education, Health & Care Plans) and IEPs (Individual Education Plans)

  • Graduates or students in Psychology, Education, Sociology, Childhood Studies or related areas

  • Those with experience working with children or young people (paid, voluntary or personal)

  • Individuals who are empathetic, patient, and great communicators

  • Team players with a genuine interest in child development and special educational needs (SEN)

This role is ideal if you’re exploring a career in:

  • Educational or Clinical Psychology

  • Speech & Language Therapy

  • SEN Teaching

  • Youth Work or Child Support

  • Mental Health or Wellbeing Services
