Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Burnley)
Pay: £13.75 per hour
Location: Burnley, Lancashire
Start Date: September 2025

A supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Burnley is seeking a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join its dedicated team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates who are passionate about inclusive education and want to gain meaningful experience supporting students with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of additional needs.
  • Work closely with the school’s SEN team and teaching staff to implement support strategies.
  • Encourage student engagement, confidence, and independence in and out of the classroom.
  • Help to adapt learning materials to meet individual needs.
  • Support the emotional and social development of pupils.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a Bachelor’s degree.
  • A strong interest in SEN and inclusive education.
  • Empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and build positive relationships with students.
  • Any experience in a school or care setting is beneficial but not essential.
