Job Title: Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN provision based in Birmingham. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with additional needs, contributing to their development, and creating a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively in a classroom setting to support students with additional needs throughout the school day.
  • Build fast and positive relationships with students, fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Maintain positive behaviour amongst students through effective communication and engagement strategies.
  • Demonstrate confidence in dealing with challenging behaviour and show a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Provide valuable assistance to the class teacher in implementing individualized education plans.
  • Foster a safe and nurturing environment for students to thrive academically and socially.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working with children or adults with additional needs.
  • Ability to work effectively in a classroom setting.
  • Confidence in managing challenging behaviour.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships quickly.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK.
  • DBS clearance (or willingness to apply for one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
