Graduate Psychology Teaching Assistant-FULL TIME

 

Are you a recent graduate with a 2.1 or higher in Psychology or a related field?

Are you passionate about pursuing a career in Teaching, Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Speech and Language Therapy?

Do you have experience supporting primary-aged students with ASD, special educational needs (SEN), or other learning difficulties?

Are you eager to work with SEN students as a Graduate Psychology Teaching Assistant, gaining invaluable experience to further your career in education or therapy?

 

We are currently seeking a dedicated Graduate Psychology Teaching Assistant to join a wonderful primary school in Plymouth. This role will provide you with the opportunity to support students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), as well as those requiring additional support.

 

Key Information About the Role:

Position: Graduate Psychology Teaching Assistant

Full-Time: Monday to Friday, term-time

Ideal for: Aspiring Educational Psychologists, Teachers, or other related fields

Key Responsibilities: Support primary-aged students with EHCPs, working with them individually or in small groups (up to 5 students). Implement behaviour management strategies to help students with socialisation, building routines, and emotional regulation.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working within SEN settings (ASD experience desirable)
  • Flexible and reliable work availability
  • A compassionate, positive, and proactive personality – someone who takes initiative and supports the team without prompting
  • Ability to adapt to changing behaviour and remain calm under pressure
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to follow teacher guidance
  • A valid DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Hold a valid UK driving licence
