Graduate Learning Support Assistant
Join a vibrant secondary school in central Manchester seeking to appoint a Graduate Learning Support Assistant from September 2020. This is a full-time temporary position required for one academic year.
This role is ideal for any graduates considering a career in teaching, educational psychology or educational support roles.
The successful candidate will be working in the schools Special Educational Needs department working both as part of a team and independently.
Responsibilities of this Learning Support Assistant role:
- Work with individuals and small groups of children under the supervision of the teacher including the delivery of programmes of work and implementation of EHCPs.
- Establish a supportive and motivational relationship with the pupil(s) concerned.
- Establish good relationships with students, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs.
- Supervise and support students ensuring their safety and access to learning;
- Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students.
- Encourage students to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
- Attend to the students’ personal needs, including social, health, physical and welfare matters.
This popular secondary school is located in central Manchester and has over 1000 pupils on roll. The school has an inner city catchment area providing education for a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds. Due to its inner city location, the school has excellent connections to universities, employers and a number of fantastic opportunities. The school has a large state-of-the-art building and a large car park accessible for all staff members.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
