Are you a recent graduate considering a career in education? Whether your background is in core academic subjects, sports science, the creative arts, or psychology, this is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in schools before committing to teacher training or a long-term pathway.

We are working with a range of primary, secondary, and specialist SEN provisions seeking motivated graduates to support pupils across a variety of settings from September 2026.

The Role
As a Graduate Support Assistant, you will:

  • Work alongside teaching staff to deliver engaging lessons
  • Provide targeted 1:1 or small group support
  • Support students with additional needs, including SEN and SEMH
  • Build strong relationships with pupils to support academic and personal development
  • Gain exposure to behaviour management strategies and classroom leadership

This role is ideal for graduates exploring careers in teaching, educational psychology, youth work, or pastoral support.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive, resilient, and adaptable approach
  • Interest in education, child development, or support work
  • Experience working with young people (desirable but not essential)

Working via an education recruitment agency offers a structured yet flexible entry point into the sector:

  • Pathway to Permanent Roles: Many positions operate on a temporary-to-permanent basis, giving both you and the school time to assess fit
  • Professional Development: Ongoing training, safeguarding certification, and CPD opportunities provided
  • Dedicated Consultant Support: Guidance through placements, career planning, and interview preparation
  • Immediate Classroom Exposure: Build practical experience that strengthens applications for PGCE, teacher training, or postgraduate study
