Teaching Personnel are working with Secondary Schools in Selby, York, Scarborough and Hull who are looking for a bank of Cover Supervisors to work in their school on a daily basis. This time of year shows an influx in day to day cover. This can be Full time or a flexible working basis.
The role of a Cover Supervisor involves:
- Deliver work which is already set to students in full class settings
- Cover in the absence of the full class teacher: no planning or marking responsibilities
- Engage with a class of students, ensuring they remain on task and complete the set work
- Gain highly valuable paid work experience in a secondary school environment
- Ideal to support any future PGCE application
The role of a Cover Supervisor as outlined above is beneficial for a confident and adaptable graduate who is looking for work in a secondary school and is perhaps a prospective future teacher. The schools we work with in the areas advised above are supportive of graduates and regularly ask for the same graduates back for continuity purposes.
Highlights of the Graduate Cover Supervisor position:
- Pay ranging between £60 - £70 per day depending upon prior experience and specific school
- Fulfil the role of a cover supervisor, managing full classes and covering lessons already pre-planned
- Gain invaluable experience supporting a future PGCE application
This role would suit a graduate of any degree specialism but one that has experience in supporting in an educational setting.
