This is one of the most popular routes into teaching, allowing graduates to develop classroom management skills, build confidence working with young people, and gain first-hand experience of life in a secondary school.

What Does a Cover Supervisor Do?

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during teacher absence and deliver pre-set lesson materials provided by teaching staff.

You will not be required to plan lessons or mark work. Instead, your role is to ensure students remain engaged, focused, and on task while maintaining a positive learning environment.

  • Providing feedback to teaching staff following lessons

Why Is This Role Ideal for Graduates?

Many of our Cover Supervisors go on to complete teacher training, PGCE programmes, School Direct routes, or careers within education.

This role allows you to:

  • Gain hands-on classroom experience

  • Develop behaviour management skills

  • Build confidence leading groups of students

  • Strengthen future teacher training applications

  • Explore whether teaching is the right career for you

  • Earn while gaining valuable experience

We're Looking For Graduates Who:

  • Hold a UK-recognised degree in any subject

  • Are confident communicating with young people

  • Have strong organisational and interpersonal skills

  • Are reliable, professional, and adaptable

  • Have a genuine interest in education

Experience working with young people is beneficial but not essential.

Why Work with Teaching Personnel?

  • Competitive daily pay of £100–£120

  • Flexible work to fit around your commitments

  • Opportunities across a wide range of secondary schools

  • Dedicated consultant support

  • Free safeguarding and CPD training
