An opportunity has arisen at a school in Manchester, for a Geography teacher to join the teaching staff on a temporary basis. It is essential that the required teacher:
- Holds QTS.
- Is educated to degree level (preferably in Geography or in a related subject)
- Is confident in delivering lessons to large group sizes.
- Can teach Geography to KS4 (experience in teaching A-Level Geography is highly desirable)
This position will run for 1 term initially.
Further aspects of this position
- Managing behavioural expectations, ensuring that students are adhering to school policy both in the classroom as well as around the school site.
- Working with support staff to aid those children with SEN, ensuring that work has been effectively differentiated to meet the needs of these pupils.
- Successfully delivering school curriculum to a high standard
- Providing engaging material/resources, that are designed to ensure that students are able to remain focused throughout the lesson.
- Providing additional sessions to help those students who may require further support within the subject
- Working with students on both an individual and a group basis, providing feedback on a regular basis to pupils based on their overall attainment/progress.
- Also managing the needs of those pupils who require EAL support, and being understanding of the difficulties that these students face when tackling the mainstream process.

- Located in Manchester, the school is a short distance from Manchester city centre.
- There are numerous public transport links that are located close to the school itself.
- The M60 motorway is also located very close to the school itself, allowing easy access to those that drive.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
