Job description

Teaching Personnel are the sole recruiters for a Secondary setting who are currently looking to appoint a Geography teacher to start as soon as possible. Located in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, this mixed secondary school and sixth form serves students aged 11 to 18. It has undergone significant improvements in recent years, earning a ‘Good’ rating from Ofsted in all areas. The school offers a broad curriculum, including GCSEs, BTECs, and A Levels, and provides strong support for students with special educational needs. Its modern facilities include a theatre, climbing wall, and extensive sports amenities. Recent years have seen record exam results and more students progressing to top universities, supported by initiatives like a new football academy.

This full-time, permanent position offers the opportunity to teach across Key Stages 3 to 5, including A-Level, within a collaborative and well-resourced department.The school provides a supportive environment for both experienced educators and Early Career Teachers, with a strong emphasis on professional development and student achievement. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply promptly, as the school may conduct interviews prior to the closing date.

Job Duties:

  • Plan and deliver engaging geography lessons to students
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress and provide feedback
  • Create a positive learning environment that encourages student participation
  • Develop and implement lesson plans in line with the national curriculum
  • Support and guide students to achieve their academic goals

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Degree in Geography or relevant subject
  • Knowledge of the UK national curriculum

Experience:

Previous experience teaching geography at the secondary school level

Experience in teaching Geography 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and engage students
  • Organisational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of educational technology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a secondary school enviorment 
  • Experience working in a multicultural setting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
