Geography Teacher – Tameside – September 2025

On behalf of one of our partner secondary schools in Tameside, Teaching Personnel is seeking a committed Geography Teacher to join the Humanities department from September 2025. This role is full-time and will initially be offered on a temporary basis, with the possibility of becoming permanent.

This school values a broad and ambitious curriculum and is particularly focused on developing students’ understanding of environmental and social issues. The successful applicant will contribute to a strong team that is passionate about helping young people make sense of the world.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering Geography lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4, following the AQA curriculum.

• Supporting curriculum development and engaging students through fieldwork and active learning.

• Monitoring student progress through regular formative and summative assessment.

• Supporting the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities.

What we’re looking for:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

• Experience teaching Geography in a UK secondary school.

• Strong subject knowledge, particularly in human and physical geography at GCSE.

• The ability to inspire, challenge, and motivate students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
